I was born in Munich Germany, the third son in a family of seven. From an early age I remember being fascinated by paintings and sculptures of the old masters, wondering how anyone could create such beauty. These early feelings would become a driving force and an outlet that would inspire and foster my love of art.
Formal concepts of composition, color, and form were studied while attending the University of Northern Colorado, The Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and most importantly during a two year apprentice with a master sculptor and mentor Thomas Marsh.
Through a referral I stepped into the world of commercial art, creating miniatures for the giftware and collectibles industry. Animals, purses and shoes are but a few of the pieces that captured my sense of life and realism.
There are currently two collections on my website with the first being devoted to drawing and painting, while the second is collection of small figurines called “Bottoms Up”.
“Bottoms Up” represents the combination of meticulous attention to detail and imagination. Each resin hand painted piece is approximately 3.5 inches X 2 inches.
My collection of drawing, acrylic and oil painting expresses the love I have for the natural world.
Thank you for visiting my website and if you have any question I look forward to hearing from you.
Cordially,
Ed Price
